Thank you to all who responded to our recent gift day

November 8 2024 – It is with great pleasure that we can tell you that the final figures for our Gift Day last month are £104,000 (including Gift Aid) available now and a further £22,400 (including Gift Aid) pledged to be given over the next 4 years.  This makes a total of £126,400.

Thank you to everyone who has made this possible.

We will start collecting the pledges for the All Saints Hall Redevelopment Project now. The money should go to the usual Church account with a reference ‘building’- details on some A5 sheets in the link if you need them and send either by BACS or cheque, but please just make the money available as you’re ready.

God has been so good.

All Saints Renewal

Know Jesus, Show Jesus, Seek His Kingdom

…more than just a building project

In November 2023, church members received a booklet from the PCC outlining plans for Renewal. The booklet can be downloaded below.

Renewal – the story so far

All Saints Church has been a place of worship for the people of its time since 1837, with each generation renewing and enhancing it as needs have changed. 15 years ago, there was a vision for a renewed church building and hall to become a focus for community activities and offer relevant and up-to-date facilities for a range of local groups and organisations.

At that time, it was hoped that both the Church and the Hall would be renewed, providing
…space to serve the church and community
…space to enhance life
…space for all ages both older and younger

As a church fellowship, we have always known it is never about the building. Church is not merely a place we go to. Rather, it is a family we belong to where all are welcome. The desire, therefore, was that it would be a building for renewed people who were

…renewed in care and concern for those around us
…renewed in service to others
…renewed in Christian faith and understanding for the benefit of the whole community of the Sid Valley and beyond.

Many prayers have been answered over the last 15 years as the life of the church has developed. We have now reached a point where it is those parts of the buildings largely untouched by the reordering that need some attention. The bigger picture remains unchanged – our dream is as renewed people.

The booklet goes on to describe in more detail plans to Re:New, Re:Build, Re:Fresh, Re:Vitalise and Re:Source

How can the church members help?

  • Practically, we’d love you to pray, not just for the building project but also the wider work of the church – we are conscious that we don’t want to be distracted by a building project.
  • We are aware some will have questions and want to understand how we have arrived at this point. We will be having some church meetings to provide a place to ask questions so, do please come along
  • We need a small team of people who can help with communications throughout the project and help lead us as we pray. If you would be willing to be part of that, please contact David Caporn.
  • The urgent work on the Old School Building over the summer has cost us in the region of £50,000. We are aware of some work to the roof that needs doing now to limit water ingress. This is being funded from reserves, but if you are in the position and feel led to make a one-off gift to the church now. Do please contact our Treasurer, John Russell. Reserves we don’t need to use now can be allocated to the next phase
  • We are aware that our circumstances are all different. As a church, we want to pray and discuss now with the opportunity to respond to how we feel God is leading us as a church in the New Year. This will enable the PCC to decide how to proceed. Please be praying as to how God is calling you to respond to this, which is, of course, in addition to meeting our regular budget.
